This qualification has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) value of 340 hours. The TQT is a measure of how long it will take to complete a qualification and includes the Guided Learning Hours as well as any unsupervised learning and time spent on independent research.

Description

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting course - (Level 2) is your first step towards a successful accounting and finance career. You don’t need any prior experience or qualifications to enrol, making it perfect if you’re just starting out or if you need to bring useful financial knowledge to your current role.


It’s focused on giving you practical, real-world knowledge of accounting and finance that you can put to use from day one.


You'll learn the basic principles of accountancy, including:


Double entry bookkeeping

Bookkeeping transactions

Bookkeeping controls

Elements of costing

Using accounting software

Working effectively in finance


As well as gaining the skills you need to hold entry-level or accounting support roles. You can also continue your study with the Advanced and Professional Diplomas and become qualified for senior accounting roles.


The course is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), the UK’s largest professional body for accounting technicians, so it’s internationally recognised and sought-after by employers.

Requirements

You don't need any prior experience or qualifications to enrol, but you should have reasonable numeracy and communication skills and an interest in how business works.


You must be over 19, and if English isn't your first language, you'll need an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.


Please note that if you have a criminal record or have been made bankrupt, AAT may not accept you as a member. This means you won't be able to sit your exams. If you're unsure, please contact AAT directly for advice.
